They say that sharing is caring, if that is the case, then we can surely say that Lionsgate loves video streaming junkies! So to end all the curiosity, I will cut to the chase, Lionsgate have licensed a 200 film library to with the introduction of their new “Movies On Demand” brand extension. Break, an entity owned by Defy Media, originally started out as a website for user-generated humorous video content, who have in recent years become more ambitious with their offerings.

So what can screen junkies expect?

If you thought you are going to see an old black- and-white film, think again, as these films do not suit the Break platform. Instead films like “Dirty Dancing”, “Requiem For A Dream”, “Glengarry Glen Ross” and “Winters bone” to name a few, are titles users will be allowed to stream  for free! Yes, for free!

The deal is the first content partnership between the two, since Lionsgate took a stake in Break seven years ago. The films released are only a pebble in a vault of 15 000 films, which is an attempt by the studio to match the right films with digital platforms which offer big target audiences. That being said, Break has 70 million unique visitors per month and 22 million downloads of their App.
