“LADYGREY”, Alain Choquart’s new film shot in South Africa

Set in South Africa, 10 years after apartheid comes a feature film “LADYGREY”, the directorial debut of former cinematographer Alain Choquart. The French-Belgian South African production, tells the tale of a black and white community residing at the base of the Drakensberg Mountains, living in trauma due to a series of unsolved killings. Everyone remembers the killings but instead choose to remain quiet, until the arrival of a young woman shatters the entire fragile balance in the town.

The cast include Peter Sarsgaard, Emily Mortimer, Jeremy Renier, Claude Rich, Liam Cunningham and extremely talented African Actress, Sibongile Mlambo. LADYGREY has thus far enjoyed screenings at the Miami International Film Festival 2015 and recently screened at the Durban International Film Festival 2015. Ten years after the end of Apartheid. Inside a French mission established at the foot of the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains, a community of black and white South Africans tries to live without recalling the violent clashes of the past that have left their secret scars on everyone. The past will suddenly emerge and break the silence, endangering the fragile balance of reconciliation and the slightly crazy dreams of the community’s most innocent members.
