The festival is run by a non-profit organisation with a vision dedicated to supporting Johannesburg’s film community, promoting local culture and to reaching new audiences through the medium of film! This year being the Fourth Annual Jozi Film Festival, film lovers can expect multiple genres of films by up-and-coming and established filmmakers, taking place from 19-22 February 2015. The films screened will bring to light issues that affect our communities, along with stories that resonate with our hearts and minds. To educate and inspire, a series of workshops and networking events will be hosted during the Jozi Film festival. Films will be screened over a three-day period at several venues throughout Johannesburg, including The Bioscope Independent Cinema. The festival will conclude with a nail biting awards ceremony on 22 February 2015.

Love The One You Love

Director: Jenna Bass

Across the city of Cape Town, a sex-line operator, a dog handler and a computer technician begin to suspect that their romantic relationships are the subject of a bizarre conspiracy, involving their family, friends, and possibly even greater forces. ‘Love the One You Love’s parallel stories question the ideals we hold too sacred: love, happiness, and the New South Africa; the pursuit of which makes truth impossible.

Love The One You Love is the directorial debut of Jenna Bass, originally screened at Durban International Film Festival 2014, went on to win Best South African Feature Film, Best Direction in a South African Feature Film, and Best Actress (Chi Mhende).
